Welcome back, Emily! What jumped out to me while reading your list of projects is that there seems to be an underlying thread connecting all of them: you don't just build aesthetic things, you build them from scratch. The mediums change, but the engine underneath seems to be the same every time. I wonder if you leaned harder into that and decoded your engine, you'd find a deep throughline and lot of clarity on what drives the empire you're building. Looking forward to following along as you do.
You are spot on — I am going to have a think on this over coffee this morning, because there is definitely several underlying threads, and figuring out what those are my be a good way to whittle down that list of 87 other ideas to the ones that will work best! Thanks for your thoughtful reply ☺️
I love a good pile of creative side projects. Though for me I think it's more accurate to call it a braid of creative projects that I'm hoping to weave into a portfolio career that supports me and my life. I still never quite know what to say when people ask me what I do.
Exciting times, and all that you’ve taught yourself is icing on the cake! “Project Empire” has a nice ring to it.
I think I'm actually going to replace it with "indie" — no, I haven't thought this through at all!
You didn't mention your running passion and accomplishments!
Ha, that’s certainly my other big goal for 2026 — if I can get a Valencia marathon bib that is!!

You're doing great! I have needed a side hustle for years but have never managed to think of a good one. You're inspiring me to try harder :)
I think just make a list of all of your ideas, pick one and just start! Might be a bust, but you won’t know until you give it a whirl.

I’d say that’s a good problem to have! I don’t want to fit neatly in a box either.
