This is such a humble brag and I support it so much 😂

I'm currently in NZ so I'm waking up at 6AM/7AM... aka, noon ET, meaning I'm launching face first into stacked meetings, unread notifications, and all the emails from the day so far haha. I'm envious of your zen mornings! I always tell myself "what if I lived like this even in the US?" but then I revert back to my 9AM wake-ups immediately upon arrival to US soil. Maybe in 2025...

Kudos for pulling off that schedule! I didn't realize it's actually pretty doable. Hey, at least you are logging on at 6am/7am from the ✨future✨ — tell me, what is Wednesday going to be like?! Enjoy your trip and hi to Logan :)

Logan's favorite party trick is to try and convince nomads to make their way to NZ. Only three hours off from pacific time (okay, 21 hours.....). So far so good in Wednesday. Average weather, but there's still time yet. He says hi back!!

This is a beautifully poetic look at a magical time of the day. I honestly haven't seen the sun rise in an embarrassingly long time, but your word's-eye view has me thinking of getting out of bed a lot earlier on a regular basis. Very well done!

To consider the day a success by 7am makes it 100% worth it every time.

Beautiful read. I have varied over the years--rising very early doesn't come naturally to me, but I've loved it during the periods I've managed it. Your post has encouraged me to give it another go.

"Before the World Needs Me" so insightfully captures the exact joy of early morning. I would not have thought to language it this way, but it's right on the mark. When add a family and children to the mix this becomes even more relevant as a frame.

Agreed — I can only speculate on this, but I'd imagine that waking up early to claim some solo time as a parent is even more important (if not also much more difficult). I now totally understand why my mom used to wake up at 5am to read the newspaper with her coffee when I was a kid.

I miss the sand between my toes as the sun rises on a west facing beach. It's truly one of the most simple pleasures in the world. Thank you for painting this picture for us.

One of my favorite lines here is the end: "sunrises belong only to those who are willing to wake up and claim them."

Enjoyed the poetry of this. A reminder to be ready for the best the day has to offer as it can quickly pass and become crowded.

“sunrises belong only to those who are willing to wake up and claim them.” - and those who prepare for them, having our coffee ready so to speak, gives us a better chance to enjoy and appreciate the sunrise (day). ☕️🌅😎

Sometimes sleeping in is necessary, and I do my best to listen to my body. But man, as luxurious as waking up at 8:45am is, I can't help but feel like I've already missed the best part of the day.

I’m a big proponent of sleep but for me, sleeping in has basically become my healthy version of an unhealthy night of drinking. It’s fun when I’m doing it, maybe a 2-3 times a year. But every time I do it, it reminds me why I don’t do it that often.

Many people think about getting up early to seize the day, but you actually do it! Impressive..,
